Some random facts about me; I hate to write. I can't spell. I never journal. So, why blog? Well, as many of you know or will soon come to know, my life has taken quite the turn in the past months. My heart is on the mends, although, will never be completely whole again. Therefore, I am constantly looking for ways to comfort this ache. Over these past months, reading other blogs exclaiming stories about life, death, random facts, daily encounters and simple pleasures, have somehow tended to my aching heart and have allowed me to experience small moments of joy. Blogging has allowed our world to capture a small (although sometimes quite large) glimpse into another ones life, creating a thrill that is addictive and slightly contagious! My blog will hopefully nurture that thrill in hopes to offer you a 'front row seat' into my journey through this crazy experience called, life. Life, in the essence of what gives, breaths and sustains. Maybe my blogging will one day attribute to caring for another ones aching heart.

re-decorate for under $100

What to do when my husband is out of town and I am in need of a good distraction???

Find a project!

 First, I needed a vision.

After a few short hours of googling, flipping through design magazines and surfing fun blog sites, I began to envision a new 'look' to our office/guestroom/storage unit/dumping ground.... yes our spare room has multiple functions and often drives me crazy with the clutter it accumulates!

So, time to re-decorate and organize!

But, often my fun projects like these cost lots of $, something in which we do not have.

Well, not this time.

I was determined to re-decorate for under $100!

How? You may ask...

Well, I shopped here,

and there,

I used a lot of this,

And a bit of that,

And...........

TADAA!

Idea #1; Use Fabric to make wall decor and pillows

Idea #2; Spray paint lamps and furniture to create a new look

Idea #3; Print fun pictures and frame them

The End to a fun week of re-decorating, now time for my hubby to come home.

Our little get away

Eric and I were given, as a wedding gift, a nights stay in one of the finest B&B's in OCNJ, The Atlantis (what a great gift idea by the way).  Ocean City New Jersey has been a favorite summer vacation spot since I was a little girl, and it is also happens to be the location where Eric proposed to me atop the Wonderland ferris wheel.  Needless to say, the town is nostalgic for many reasons.

So, since this weekend is a tough weekend to get through, we decided to cash in our nights stay at the Atlantis B&B and enjoy a little get away.  Although the weekend weather forecast looked dismal, we still ventured down the atlantic city expressway friday afternoon ecstatic to escape for a night away down to the shore!

We ate dinner here, one of our favorite restaurants, Buddakan, in Atlantic City, NJ...

We spent the night here (thank you Mike and Sherry)....

We enjoyed relaxing and dining here...

And although we woke up to this, we still made the most of our day...

As we traveled home, we thought what better way to spend a saturday afternoon then to make a lunch stop in China Town, downtown Philly!  So Eric began to drive a bit faster excited about our plan...

And even though this was the foggy view crossing over the Ben Franklin...

We anticipated the yummy food we were about to consume in just a few short minutes, that was until we hit this...

Bumper to bumper traffic.  Who knew the Auto Show was in town!?!   Still determined to eat some delicious egg rolls and dumplings, we pushed on ward down Arch Street anticipating this street sign...

Finally, excited to have arrived to one of our China Town favorites, Shio Lan Kung...

Me, just happy to warm up with some hot tea...

The End to our fun little get away.
