Some random facts about me; I hate to write. I can't spell. I never journal. So, why blog? Well, as many of you know or will soon come to know, my life has taken quite the turn in the past months. My heart is on the mends, although, will never be completely whole again. Therefore, I am constantly looking for ways to comfort this ache. Over these past months, reading other blogs exclaiming stories about life, death, random facts, daily encounters and simple pleasures, have somehow tended to my aching heart and have allowed me to experience small moments of joy. Blogging has allowed our world to capture a small (although sometimes quite large) glimpse into another ones life, creating a thrill that is addictive and slightly contagious! My blog will hopefully nurture that thrill in hopes to offer you a 'front row seat' into my journey through this crazy experience called, life. Life, in the essence of what gives, breaths and sustains. Maybe my blogging will one day attribute to caring for another ones aching heart.

Beach Bound

Memorial Day weekend was spent soaking up some much needed sun in the company of some pretty special people.  Sometimes, last minute plans turn out the best.

The boys enjoyed doing this,

While I spent a large majority of the weekend with my toes dipped in the sand catching up on some enjoyable reading. (something I rarely have time for during the school year)

Eric and I share a mutual love for the shore, both of us having spent numerous summers vacationing along the jersey coastline with our families.

We love all that comes with a weekend getaway.
Sand. Sun. Ocean. Seafood. Bikes. Books. Music.

And we especially love spending time with this adorable couple.

Cheers, to the one of the best summer kick offs and the many beach trips to come over the next few weeks...

Her Birthday

Happy Birthday Sister

On this day, we celebrate the life of my sister, Katelynn.  She would be turning 26 today if she was still here with us.  Instead, she will be spending her 3rd birthday in the presence of our God...

Two years ago, as we celebrated her birthday for the first time without her, we released 24 balloons sent 'up' to heaven with messages of love and hope.

For the past 2 birthday's without Kate, our family has chosen to celebrate her special day by dining together at, Brickside Grill, a favorite of Katelynn's. So this year was no different, our family gathered together Friday night to celebrate her special life.  It has become a bit of a tradition.  In fact, for the past 2 years we have had various anonymous friends graciously 'treat' us to this dinner.  How amazing to continue to receive blessings through our friends as we live on with out our Kate.

"Since then you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of God" Colosions 3:1

Chipotle wins in my book

Chipotle. Have you tasted the amazing goodness of one of their burritos?

For the past month Chipotle has partnered with our gym, Philadlephia Sports Club, offering all members FREE Chipotle every Wednesday.  So, it was a no brainier for Eric and I to make a FREE dinner stop each Wed night after our grueling spin class :)

Well, while standing in line ordering our free burritos one Wednesday night, I noticed a heaping pile of burritos stacked in the corner.  I asked what they were for and they said they were for a local organization... and they had made 50 FREE burritos for this organization.  They went on to explain how Chipotle partners with many organizations offering free food as a marketing endeavor.... how awesome is that!

So, what better way to promote Great Valley's last Young Life Club of the year, by offering FREE Chipotle!  All it took, literally, was a simple phone call to our favorite Chipotle store in Wayne.  They did not even think twice before saying YES, and they would provide 25 FREE burritos for us!

Now that, is seriously, GOOD SERVICE :)

My college roommate is having a BABY!  She will forever be Katie Brady to me.  We met 11 years ago and both knew we would instantly become friends.  We lived together for 3 years in college graduating together in 2006.  We have stood in one another's weddings, supported one another through some of life's hardest moments, and most recently, celebrated the life that is growing inside of her adorable belly!
It seems just like yesterday that we were carving our names in our bunk bed's while day dreaming of what our future husbands and families would one day be like.

My roommate is going to be an amazing mommy, I could not be more excited for her :)
