Some random facts about me; I hate to write. I can't spell. I never journal. So, why blog? Well, as many of you know or will soon come to know, my life has taken quite the turn in the past months. My heart is on the mends, although, will never be completely whole again. Therefore, I am constantly looking for ways to comfort this ache. Over these past months, reading other blogs exclaiming stories about life, death, random facts, daily encounters and simple pleasures, have somehow tended to my aching heart and have allowed me to experience small moments of joy. Blogging has allowed our world to capture a small (although sometimes quite large) glimpse into another ones life, creating a thrill that is addictive and slightly contagious! My blog will hopefully nurture that thrill in hopes to offer you a 'front row seat' into my journey through this crazy experience called, life. Life, in the essence of what gives, breaths and sustains. Maybe my blogging will one day attribute to caring for another ones aching heart.

7 Months

7 Months

Jude, you are 7 months old!  The past month has probably been our best month yet.  You have consistently started sleeping 10-11 hours a night making your mama and dada quite happy (and well rested).  You are weighing in at 17.9 lb's.  You LOVE eating solids, although I have stuck with puree fruits and vegetables, carrots being your favorite as of lately.  I gave you a few chunks of banana this morning and you were quick to let me know you did NOT enjoy them.  You are quite the trooper allowing your sister to 'feed' you at every opportunity she gets.  You are happiest in my arms, but stay content playing in your jumper or sitting on the floor surrounded by toys just so long as your sister isn't far.  You light up in her presence, you really do.  I think it is the fact that she is quite entertaining these days, jumping and dancing all around you, makes my heart happy to watch you both interact.  Although, you are starting to realize you can move, as you scoot and roll toward whatever entices you, mainly being your sisters hair (not to her liking).  You average two naps a day and one cat nap before dinner.  Although, the past few days have been rough as you have caught your first cold.  It makes me so sad seeing you so congested and just not yourself.  Hoping you are on the mends and back to your happy self soon. You exude love Jude Anthony, oh how we love you.

4 Months, 5 Months, 6 Months... (yes, I'm behind)

4 Months

Oh Jude.... you are 4 months!  We continued to battle sleep issues as well as skin reactions, therefore Mommy felt it best to take you to see an allergist.  Sure enough, after getting tested we found out you were allergic to eggs and tree nuts.  So, along with changing mommy's diet and giving you some meds to clear up your skin, we noticed an immediate change.  At 4 months you are weighing in at 14.8lb's, still growing like a champ despite your allergy issues.  You are a JOY.  Your little personality has come out so much.  You can light up a room with your big smile in an instant.  In fact, numerous people have commented on just how giggly and smiley you are.  You have melted your mama's heart.  You have settled into 3 naps a day, sometimes stretching as long as 3 hours.  You love your paci to nap and at bedtime and you are in the process of transitioning out of your swaddle.  Hoping the next month brings some better sleep at night now that we seem to have figured you out.

5 Months

You are 5 months old, and what a better month we have had!  Mainly SLEEP at night has entered back into our lives.  You no longer need that 10pm feed and you are sleeping 8-10hr stretches.  No teeth yet and yes, you received your very first haircut this month!  Mommy needed to trim those wispy hairs that were beginning to resemble a combover.  You are looking quite handsome and so much older (in mommy's opinion).  You have successfully transitioned out of your swaddle into a sleep sack and are still taking a solid 3 naps a day although that third one mostly acts as a cat nap before dinner.  You have begun  sitting supported by the boppy, and are content to play on a blanket or in your exersaucer.  You drink close to a  9oz bottle before bed which seems to have been the trick to get you to sleep all night :)  You now find your paci in your crib and put it back in on your own, hooray!  Your jibber jabble is just the sweetest sound.  You are all smiles throughout the day, accept for when your tired eyes set in, then its to bed you go or you are quick to let us all know!  At 5 months you weigh in at 15.6lb's.

6 Months

You are 6 months old, how can it be!  Weighing in at 16.9lb's.  Oh Jude you are just a love.  In fact we recently found out that your spiritual name means 'Full of Love', oh how true that is!  You sit like a big boy and are into every new toy you can get your hands on.  Everything and I mean EVERYTHING is in your mouth, but still no sign of teeth.  Mommy gave you your first solid food the other night and you loved it.  Starting with rice cereal and carrots and acorn squash.  We'll see how you tolerate those and then we will move onto more.  Mommy has already started making your food and freezing it.  You have fallen into a pretty predictable routine, 3 naps a day, sometimes 2, but you still really need that third late afternoon cat nap in order to give us a good night sleep, and bedtime between 7 and 8pm.  You have consistently been sleeping all night, waking anywhere between 5 and 7am.  Some of your favorites at 6 months include, being held...really by anyone (you are our cuddle bear), rolling across the family room floor with your sister, grabbing mommy's hair as well as giving big open mouth kisses (which I love),  eating eating eating, being anywhere close to your sister (although she prefers you out of 'pulling hair distance'), and snuggling at bedtime.  You sleep on the go like a champ often taking your morning nap in your car seat.  Oh Jude, we just love you so.  We have a feeling you are going to be a busy little guy and we can not wait to see what the next few months have in store for us.
