Some random facts about me; I hate to write. I can't spell. I never journal. So, why blog? Well, as many of you know or will soon come to know, my life has taken quite the turn in the past months. My heart is on the mends, although, will never be completely whole again. Therefore, I am constantly looking for ways to comfort this ache. Over these past months, reading other blogs exclaiming stories about life, death, random facts, daily encounters and simple pleasures, have somehow tended to my aching heart and have allowed me to experience small moments of joy. Blogging has allowed our world to capture a small (although sometimes quite large) glimpse into another ones life, creating a thrill that is addictive and slightly contagious! My blog will hopefully nurture that thrill in hopes to offer you a 'front row seat' into my journey through this crazy experience called, life. Life, in the essence of what gives, breaths and sustains. Maybe my blogging will one day attribute to caring for another ones aching heart.

8 Months

I feel as though you have grown so much in just the past month, in fact, this picture alone tells me you are on your way to toddler-hood (crazy!).  So much happened in the past month including celebrating your first Christmas, your first night away from Mama,  your first 13hr sleep stretch (Christmas Eve!) and you have begun crawling on all fours!  Overall, you are a happy happy boy.  Everyone comments on your happy demeanor, quick to smile and always up for a cuddle.  I continue to puree different foods for you, sweet potatoes, pees, pears and apples naming a few favorites.  Recently you have been introduced to puffs and can't get enough of them (shocker).  At the moment you love puree over chunky foods and have started to self-feed which can become quite messy.  You weigh in at 18.4 lb's and have kept those sparkling blue eyes.  Your hair, yes your hair is a striking auburn and even has begun to develop a bit of a wave.  Over the past month you dropped that 3rd cat nap and now give us 2 good naps.  You are a champ at giving me that morning nap while we are out and usually take that afternoon nap when your big sister naps.  Nights have improved dramatically.  You are (for the most part) consistent with giving 10-12 hrs a night.  Bedtime is around 7pm.  You have yet to show any partiality (fingers crossed) to those putting you to bed, therefore allowing mommy and daddy to take a (surprise) weekend gett-a-way.  Thank you Jude for remaining a bit less dramatic (so far) then a certain other little one in this house when it comes to bedtimes and separation from mommy. Still NO TEETH, but they are on their way.  Anything and everything is in your mouth.  My guess is over the next month we will see one cut through.  As to your allergies, you still battle with eggs, tree nuts and sesame seeds, so mommy is still steering clear from eating those foods.  You go for more testing this Spring.  You have consolidated nursing sessions to 4x a day.  And you eat a solid breakfast, lunch and dinner.  Jude, you are a delight in every way.  I have a feeling as the next few months pass us by I will begin to see that 'little boy' emerge as the 'baby' in you fades.  I treasure your cuddles, embrace your smiles and am beyond grateful for your presence.  Jude you are loved.... so loved.
